Rite of Passage Therapy
A rite of passage marks a significant transition in a person's life. How these transitions are managed can be instrumental in determining who we become throughout adulthood—as women, as mothers, and as partners.
The symbol of this practice is the triskele, which signifies the three phases of womanhood: the transformation from girl to woman, from woman to mother, and finally to our wisest selves. The focus of this therapeutic practice is on successfully navigating these powerful yet challenging rites of passage.
My practice was created to support and guide women through these important life transitions. I am interested in hearing your story and in helping you find effective ways to care for yourself and those you love. Whether you are a teenager, a young adult, a new mother, a parent, or a partner, you are a Wise Woman, and I welcome you to Rite of Passage.
Approach
I offer short and long-term therapy for individuals, groups, and families, providing a warm, respectful, and collaborative approach to your individual needs within a safe and nurturing environment. I value a strong therapeutic alliance that gives you the comfort and freedom to develop insight into your thoughts, behaviors, and relationships. We will work together to understand your strengths and challenges, as well as to establish goals that will improve your health and well-being. Through this collaboration, you will work to gain greater self-awareness, heal from past trauma, and cope with present difficulties.
Because everyone is unique, we employ a variety of treatment modalities—from cognitive-behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness to solutions-focused, family systems therapy, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), and EXAT (Trauma-Informed Expressive Arts Therapy)—in order to discover the most effective treatment for you.
